Interns – Join the team to elect Sam Edwards!

A SC House campaign seeks to hire interns. Interns will work with the candidate and campaign team and will learn campaigning skills related to volunteer management and voter contact. Start dates and hours are flexible. Current students and recent graduates are invited to apply. This is an unpaid position; we are happy to work with students who would like to take this position for academic credit. Check out our website to learn more about the campaign:

Your role:

  • Support campaign in developing local goals and plans for voter engagement and mobilization
  • Participate in daily voter contact activities such as canvassing and phone banking
  • Collect, organize and enter data for all voter contact and voter engagement activities, including tracking volunteer recruitment

Your qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
  • Ability to communicate with others across different learning styles and cultural backgrounds
  • Experience working with others at your school, on your campus, in your community or through your workplace to promote progressive policies
  • Ability to meet goals under pressure and stay flexible in a changing campaign environment
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive

Your opportunity:

  • Learn basic and advanced campaign skills (running and participating in phone banks, cutting turf and creating walk packets for volunteers, team management, etc.)
  • Learn how to use tools like the Voter Activation Network (VAN) database, miniVAN, and communication technologies used by campaigns across the country
  • Shape the future of progressive democracy in South Carolina
